For the second consecutive year, BIOMETHAVERSE took part in the CH4+BIOCH4 conference, continuing the project’s engagement with this key platform for advancing the biomethane and biogas sectors. The event, held on 27 November 2024 in Bari (Italy), focused on the technologies and systems for the production, transport, distribution, and use of biomethane by exploring policies, regulations, and technological innovations supporting Italy’s decarbonisation efforts.

During the Research and Development Serving Biomethane  session, Loriana Paolucci (Senior Researcher at ISINNOVA) showcased BIOMETHAVERSE’s research, sharing the project’s advancements in innovative biomethane production technologies and their potential to improve production efficiency and environmental sustainability.

The conference provided a valuable occasion for engaging with industry experts, policymakers, and fellow researchers (including partners from the EU-funded projects SKILLBILL and ALFA). Together, we explored the latest trends in biogas and biomethane across Europe, examined successful case studies, and highlighted the excellence of the Apulia region in this sector. Discussions also covered the final uses of biomethane for decarbonisation and the valorisation of by-products from anaerobic digestion plants.
